This event is organized by the project , hosted at the University of Bergen (UiB) SVT, with support from UiB Ocean and in partnership with USF Verftet. 

The sea represents different values to different people and can vary with time and place. The MENSA project has been capturing what the sea means to Norwegians. 

Attend this event to learn about what your fellow Norwegians value about the ocean and reflect on your own. Let’s create a sea change together to ethical management!

Exhibition: Norwegian Seascapes

Come see the stunning visual imagery and read the passionate poetry and text of what the sea means to diverse Norwegians! 

Immerse yourself in the beauty and power of the sea, the relationships that Norwegians have with the ocean, and the symbolism of the ocean to Norwegian society. 

Consider entering the MENSA Norwegian seascapes contest before you attend the exhibition - the deadline is 5 May 2025.

About the exhibition:

  • It's open from 16:00 to 21:00 and it's possible to come by at any time during this period.
  • It's located at USF Verftet, outside of the entrance to Cinemateket
  • There is no entrance fee.
