Scientific staff
The faculties organize support for academic staff, contact your local department administration for more information.Ìý
Technical and administrative staff
Technical and administrative staff at UiB can apply for financial support for skills development initiatives. There are seperate schemes at the faculties and for the University Library and the University Museum.ÌýEmployees at the University Library and the University Museum send applications to their administration.
The employees contacts their immediate manager for more information.
Funding for Competence Development in the (Central) Administration
Technical and administrative employees in the Administration can apply for financial support for competence development. Applications should be submitted to their immediate manager.ÌýÌý
If the manager approves the application, it can be forwarded to the HR division. The HR division can cover up to 50 % of the course or conference fee, for fees exceeding NOK 3000,-, from the central competence funds. Application to HR should be submitted via Elements.
The remaining course fee, materials, travel and accommodation expenses must be covered by agreement with the manager at their own unit.
Note: The faculties, UB and UM have their own funds. Employees in these units must contact their respective unit.Ìý
Competence development for external funding and research support
UiB Opp is UiB's competence program to support the institution's growing need for research support, and for knowledge about external funding related to both research, education and innovation. The program is open to employees who want to develop in the fields of research support or external funding. The BOA team is responsible for the programme.
UiB Opp offers BOA courses at two levels within external funding and research support for employees. For more information about the courses, see the course page of UiB OppÌý(NO).
