I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Bergen Offshore Wind Centre (BOW) at the University of Bergen, working in the research group of Prof. Gebhardt. My research focuses on computational mechanics, with a particular emphasis on finite element methods (FEM), isogeometric analysis (IGA), shell structures, and data-driven approaches. Currently, I contribute to the ERC-funded project Data-Driven Offshore, where we explore aerohydroelastic analysis of offshore wind turbines using advanced numerical and data-driven methods.
Originally from Vietnam, I moved to Germany 13 years ago to pursue my studies, earning a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from HTW Berlin, an M.Sc. from the Technical University of Munich, and a Ph.D. in Computational Mechanics from TU Darmstadt. During my doctoral research in Prof. Schillinger’s group, I developed a higher-order accurate mass lumping scheme for explicit dynamics of shells—a topic I continue to investigate for practical applications.
My research interests include advanced numerical methods for structural analysis and dynamics, particularly finite element and machine-learning-based methods. I am passionate about interdisciplinary collaboration and advancing computational tools to tackle real-world engineering challenges.
