Sex and politics in a global perspective: Two-day gathering & conference

The conference concludes the combined seminar series, PhD and master course organised by SKOK, LawTransform and SkeivForsk.

In spring 2025, SKOK, LawTransform and Skeivforsk have organized a cross-disciplinary combined seminar series, PhD and master course about the dynamics between sex and politics in a global perspective. Read more about the course here.

To conclude the seminar series and course, we invite both course participants and other interested parties to a two-day gathering and conference on 22 and 23 May, with presentations and a film screening.

It's possible to join the conference without registering, but The deadline is 16 May at noon.Ìý

Thursday 22 May (10:15-14:00)

10:15 – 10:30: Welcome

10:30 – 11:30: (University of Massachusetts, Amherst and guest researcher at UiB): Decolonial and anticolonial queer and transgender studies

11:30 – 13:00: Lunch break

13:00 – 14:00: (University of Stavanger): Anti-LGBTQ+ mobilizations through global East and Nordic lenses

Friday 23 May (10:30-14:00)

10:30 – 11:30: (University of Essex): Cultural co-productions: Embodied queer and trans knowledges and collaboration

11:30 – 13:00: Lunch break
