Momentum delegate Astrid K. Lenvik

Astrid Lenvik is an Associate Professor of Special Needs Education at the Department of Education, University of Bergen (UiB). She has a Ph.D. in special needs education from University of Bergen with the dissertation Gifted Education in Norway (2022). She is involved in different research projects ranging from adapted education, innovative learning environments, Sami education and gifted education.

Lenvik is teaching at the bachelor’s and master’s degree in special Needs Education at UiB. She is involved in different subjects regarding disability, counseling, observation and screening, regulation and ethics and gifted education.

Research Network and Leadership

  • SNE Special Needs Education research group. Member since 2016, leader since 2024. Focuses on all areas of research in special needs education.
  • NNGE Nordic Network for Gifted Education. Member since 2022.
  • Nordic Mensa Fund. Member of the Scientific Advisory Board.

  • Adapted Education and Learning Environments, project leader.
  • SpedAims Váibmogiella (Language of the Hearth), project member.

Lenvik is a researcher in SpedAims – Centre for Research on Special Needs Education and Inclusive Practice, which is a major collaboration between five different universities in Norway and funded by the Norwegian Research Counsel. Lenvik is involved in research regarding Sami-speaking children’s linguistic, academic and social learning and development opportunities in Norway.Â
