Here is the practical information about the exams on the Norwegian language courses.

Here is听some听information听you听will听need听for听both听the听exams:听
SPECIAL NEEDS // ILLNESS
If you have听conflicting exams or other compelling reasons for not taking the exam on this day, please contact us听on听 studynorwegian@uib.no as soon as possible, and at the latest on 1 October/ 1 March.
It is听possible听to听apply听for听individual accommodations during听the听exam听if听you听have a disability, an illness or other special needs that leads to significant disadvantages at examinations compared to other students. You听may听also听apply听for individual accommodations if听you听have听suffered听an听acute听injury听or听illness.

If you become ill or have another valid reason for absence from the exam, you must inform UiB about this. You may have the right to a re-sit exam.

RULES FOR THE EXAM 鈥� CHEATING AND IT'S CONSEQUENSES
It is very important that you know what is considered cheating and which consequences cheating may have.听
No support material is allowed on the exams (both the written and the oral)
You听must听answer听the听exam听yourself听without听help. It is not听allowed听to let听someone听else听do听the听exam听for听you.听
It is听against听the听rules听to听help听others听with听their听exam.听
It is听against听the听rules听to听copy听text听from听the听internet听or听other听sources. This听will听be听considered听cheating. UiB听uses听text听recognition听applications听that听checks听your听submitted听paper听against听other听texts听online.听
If听cheating听or听attempts听to听cheat听are听discovered,听this听may听have听serious听consequences听for听you. If听cheating听is听confirmed, this听may听 lead to an annulation听of听the听exam. In听addition,听you听may听be听expelled听for听one听year听from Norwegian听universities.听

THE WRITTEN EXAM听
You听must听have a computer听to be听able听to do听the听exam. Your computer has to be online during听the听exam, and has to have a web听browser听installed. One听of听the听two听newest听versions听of听the听following听browsers听are听recommended: Microsoft Edge, Mozilla听Firefox, Google Chrome and Apple Safari (for MacOS听X).
Before听the听exam听
1. Log in to StudentWeb
First you log in to StudentWeb to check your candidate number for this exam. Do not write your name or student ID number in your examination. Your candidate number for the exam听is usually 3 digits.

2. Logging in to Inspera (where the exam is held)
Check听that听you听are听able听to log听on听to vurdering.uib.no (the听exam听program听Inspera). Choose "Logg inn med Feide". Use听your听UiB听username听and听password. It is your responsibility to check that you are able to log on in advance.
You听will听not听get听extra听time听on听the exam if you get delayed because you have forgotten your username and password.

Preparing for digital exams:听
You should try logging in to Inspera before the examination date, to check that everything is OK. If you are having trouble logging in to Inspera, contact us on: studynorwegian@uib.no, and we will help you.听
3.听Download听Safe听Exam听Browser听听
The听secure听browser听used听on听听is听called听Safe听Exam听Browser听(SEB).听听
Download听and听install听the听secure听browser听as听follows听听
Log听on听to听.听听
Go to听the听tab听"Demo tests",听find听the听test "DEMO Skriftlig eksamen p氓 campus/听Written听Exam on听Campus", select "Click听here to get ready".
Please听read听the听text听of听the听test,听go听to听the听bottom听of听the听page听under听the听heading "I have not installed Safe听Exam听Browser",听 select "Download",听follow听the听instructions听on听the听screen.听听
If听you听have听the听Safe听Exam听Browser听installed听on听your听computer,听you听should听choose听to听replace听this听with听a听new听version听if听you听are听prompted听to do so听when听you听download听and听reinstall听the听browser.听听
4. Keyboard language
You听should听change听the听keyboard听language听to Norwegian on your computer before the exam so that you can use the letters 忙,听酶听and听氓. Here听you听can听see听how听to听change听the听keyboard听language:听

If听you听are听not听able听to听change听the听keyboard听language听on听your听own,听you听can听contact听the听.听
5. Headphones
NB: Not for NOR-U4.
You will need headphones on the written exam. There will be headphones you can borrow in the exam locale. Please check that your computer has minijack (see picture). If your computer does not have this, you can bring your own headphones. It is important that these headphones are cabled (NOT wireless).听

Please note that no Examination Support Material is allowed. This applies for digital oral exams as well as oral exams at campus.
