PhD fellow  Aistėja Šelmytė-Besusparė presented data on how menopausal transition influences cardiac organ damage in obese women.

The analyses were performed within the FATCOR project (FAT-associated cardiovascular organ damage). In this project >600 women and men with overweight or obesity are followed over 10 years in midlife. The purpose is to increase knowledge about factors associated with change in risk of cardiovascular disease in midlife, including menopause.

The project is supported by The Western Norwegian Health Authority, Grieg Foundation and Hjertefondet at the University of Bergen.
