Researchers are conducting laboratory work

K2 is a clinical and translational research unit which carries out both clinical and laboratory-based research.

The departments research structure constitutes of research groups, specialized research centres and core facilities. Our researchers collaborate closely with hospitals in Western Norway and colleagues at leading medical universities in Europe and beyond.

Research

Successful collaborations in 2024 reflected in over 400 published scientific papers with a significant portion in high-impact journals. Our researchers also engage with the public through various media channels, including TV, newspapers and social media.

The department relies heavily on external funding; we receive grants from both from Norwegian and international sources.
