The positions are part of the recently established VISTA Center for Modeling of Coupled Subsurface Dynamics (VISTA CSD). The center will involve approximately 40 people, including faculty, researchers, postdocs and PhD students. MSc students will also be integrated in center activities.

About VISTA CSD

VISTA CSD鈥檚 primary objective is to develop fundamental knowledge and educate next generation researchers to understand how subsurface fluid injection and extraction results in deformation, fault reactivation and fracturing.

The center thus targets critical and fundamental research questions through mathematical and numerical modeling and data analysis.

VISTA Progam

VISTA CSD is financed by the program听听in the period from 1 January 2021 until 31 December 2025.

VISTA is a basic research program financed by the Equinor and executed in close cooperation with The Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters.

New MaPSI positions at the Department of Mathematics

One 3 yrs+ postdoc position and one permanent researcher position available within applied and computational mathematics for geoscience. The positions are part of the ERC Consolidator Grant MaPSI and will be integrated in VISTA CSD.
