Professor Frank Aarebrot honored by rector for TV lecture
Professor Frank Aarebrot was recently honored for his TV-lecture on Norwegian history by Rector Dag Rune Olsen of the University of Bergen. Professor Aarebrot鈥檚 popularizing of academic knowledge has been widely praised in the weeks ensuing the live-TV lecture.

Professor Frank Aarebrot of the Department of Comparative Politics was honored March 17th听产测 Rector Dag Rune Olsen of the University of Bergen for outstanding performance in his nationally broadcasted TV-lecture on Norwegian history. The TV program was aired by the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation February 28th in cooperation with the Bergen Student Society as Norway celebrates the 200th anniversary of its constitution.

Praised for popularizing academic knowledge
The TV program, 鈥200 years in 200 minutes鈥, was a huge hit with television viewers, with 230听000 Norwegians watching the entire 3 hours of the show, and 700听000 tuning in at some point during the broadcast or watching it online afterwards.

Professor Aarebrot was widely lauded after the show by viewers as well as prominent public officials, including Minister of Education Torbj酶rn R酶e Isaken. To express the gratitude of the University of Bergen, Professor Aarebrot received a gift from Rector Dag Rune Olsen.
