Mathea is involved in the project 鈥淧M+ evidence-based intervention for problem management among refugees (PEIL-FORSK)鈥�. The project aims to explore if former refugees, by going through training and guidance from authorized health care workers can contribute to better psychosocial health amongst newly arrived refugees in Norway.

Previous to the PhD-candidate position, Mathea has worked in the introduction program with housing and follow up newly arrived refugees in Kongsvinger. She has also worked as an advisor for refugees in the introduction program in Lillestr酶m.

Other research interest includes health behavior and health promotion, sexual health and diversity, cultural diversity and inclusion.
