Justine Siegwald has begun her PhD studies at the Department of Natural History, University Museum of Bergen on the 1st of March 2018. Justine is native from France听and holds an European Master degree from the University of Ghent, Belgium with a thesis on the nudibranch听Eubranchus farrani' species complex. Her research project is about the听systematics, phylogeny,听speciation, and biogeography of deep听sea organisms. The focal group is the gastropod genus听Scaphander distributed worldwide. This model-group will be used to address broader听questions of marine diversification and historical biogeography in the deep听sea using a听combination of morphological characters and molecular phylogenetic methods.
