Nafisa Azmuda has defended her PhD thesis "Diversity and survival of Escherichia coli and Shigella-like bacteria in the aquatic environments of Bangladesh " at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, and was awarded the PhD degree on September 5, 2013. Dr. Azmuda has been enrolled as PhD student in a University of Bergen/University of Dhaka sandwich model as part of the NUFU-funded project "". Part of her thesis work has been done during her frequent visits to Bergen, and has so far resulted in several publications, e.g.: ", "", and " She is now working as Lecturer at Department of Microbiology, Jahangirnagar University, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
