Selina Akter has defended her PhD thesis "Adaptation and survival of Escherichia coli in tropical aquatic environment" at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, and was awarded the PhD degree on September 5, 2013. Dr. Akter has been enrolled as PhD student in a University of Bergen/University of Dhaka sandwich model as part of the NUFU-funded project "". Part of her thesis work has been done during her visits to Bergen, and has so far resulted in 2 publications: ", and . She is now working as Lecturer at Department of Microbiology, Jessore Science and Technology University, Jessore, Bangladesh.
