Ines Kutzner guest researcher at Biomaterials and Department of Clinical Medicine
Dr. Ines Kutzner has received funding from the Research Council of Norway to investigate mechanisms behind loosening of knee prostheses

Main content
Following her PhD at the Ines Kutzner is now joining the Biomaterial laboratory at the Laboratory building at Haukeland University Hospital for a 9 month period. Her affiliation is with Department of Clinical Medicine.
In her PhD she investigated the loading of the knee joint as measured by instrumented implants. The work has produced unique data on loading patterns of implants in real life. 聽Some of the data, along with illustrative videos, are freely available on the .
From August onwards she will analyse implants retrieved during revision surgery in order to identify possible underlying mechanisms that lead to early loosening of knee prostheses. The prostheses are included in the Retrieval Databank, along with clinical information. The work creates links between basic biomechanics and clinical behaviour of knee implants.聽The work is now published in Acta Orthopaedica:

The funding is through the 2013-2014.
