UiB offers a specialization in fish in its laboratory animal science courses.
The course will cover the fish-specific theoretical part of the requirements of the Animal Research Regulation for mandatory theoretical training of individuals who are to perform procedures on animals (group A) or plan/design experiments with animals (group B) in laboratory animal science.
Focus i fish in reserach
This course will focus on farm- and laboratory fish as research animals.
Together with LAS 301/601, the requirement for theoretical training is covered for persons who plan and carry out experiments on fish
The course is conducted in English and the syllabus is defined based on the modules EU Framework for the Training of Laboratory Animal Personnel

Together with LAS听301/601, LAS 303/603 covers the species specific, theoretical part of the education for researchers that use animals in research based Mattilsynets demands and the EU framework.

- Regulations and guidelines
- Module 20/21 Anesthesia in fish
- Pain and nociception in fish, (incl cognitive abilities in fish)
