Much of the research activity at the Department of Chemistry is focused on two thematic areas:听Molecular Life Sciences听and听Energy and Sustainable Production. The department also conducts extensive work in听Marine Chemistry.

The Department of Chemistry has a tradition of arranging school visits for upper secondary and primary school students, providing engaging and relevant information about our study programs. The offer for lower secondary school students includes participation in "What do YOU want to be?" ("" (In Norwegian only))
At , upper secondary school students receive science training in mathematics, physics, and chemistry from enthusiastic science students. Everyone is welcome, regardless of academic level.
