Project group
- is a professor of media studies at the University of Bergen and project manager for IMAGINE. She is an internationally recognized expert in media use research, with a special interest in what media means in everyday life and what media users think about new technology. She participates in all work packages, and has primary responsibility for work package 3 Conceptualizations, as well as for the overall progress of the project.
- is an associate professor in media studies at the University of Bergen, and has expertise in quantitative media and audience research, fragmentation and polarization of media use, effects of using new and established media, trust in journalism and political communication. He will lead work package 1, and have primary responsibility for the surveys.
- is a professor of media studies at the University of Oslo. Her research is related to technology development, online services and media innovation with a particular emphasis on user experiences as well as social and societal consequences of the network society. She will lead work package 2, and will have primary responsibility for the project’s case studies.
- is Professor of Media ´óÏó´«Ã½ at the University of Oslo and Director of HumAIn – A Humanistic Hub for ´óÏó´«Ã½ of AI Performances. Bucher’s research focuses primarily on human-machine relationships in an algorithmic media world, and she will participate in work packages 2 and 3.
- is Professor at the University of Surrey and a researcher in media use, algorithms and family relationships. She previously led a project that explored citizens’ perceptions of the use of AI in British public broadcasting. She will contribute to work package 3.
- is Professor of Media ´óÏó´«Ã½ at the University of Bergen, with a special interest in what the media means for democracy and citizens’ connection to the public sphere. Moe will participate in work packages 1 and 3.
- Emilie Midtsæter Strønen will join the project as a ph.d candidate in 2025.
- Postdoctoral fellow N.N will be hired in 2025.

Pilot project KIME
In the fall of 2024, the project KIME started, which is led by Brita Ytre-Arne and serves as a pilot for IMAGINE. In addition to Ytre-Arne, KIME consists of:
researcher at the University of Bergen who has researched youth experiences with digital on- and off-switching. Agai will conduct qualitative studies in KIME.
