Who can apply

Students at the Master's Programme in Biomedical Sciences (administered by the Department of Biomedicine).

When can I go

You may go on exchange during the 2nd, 3rd and 4th semester, but you have to be back at UiB in time for your final Master's exam.

What courses can I take

You may take 30 ECTS credits of elective courses in the 2nd semester, but these courses must be incorporated into your study plan and chosen in cooperation with your supervisor at the Master's programme. Please contact the Section of Academic Affairs for details around choosing courses during an exchange. You may also do a lab project and get this approved as an elective course.

It is also possible for you to do your Master's thesis (completely or partially) with a research group at this institution, in which case you also need to have a co-supervisor at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry.Such stays must be planned in detail and approved by the Programme Committee in Biomedical Sciences as well as the research millieus in question at the respective institutions.

Tuition fee

You don't have to pay any particular admission fee or tuition costs. Exchange students only pay the regular semester fee to UiB.

About the institution and the city

University of Turku Finlands nest st酶rste med om lag 20聽000 studentar. Det ligg i byen Turku, kalla 脜bo p氓 svensk, ute ved kysten s酶rvest i Finland. Det har 貌g mindre campusar i byane Raumo, Bj枚rneborg og Salo. Universitetet blei oppretta i 1920, d氓 finske intellektuelle 酶nskte seg eit reint finskspr氓kleg universitet. Over 22聽000 personar bidrog til innsamlingsarbeidet som gjorde det mogleg 氓 starte opp landets f酶rste finske universitet. Universitetet har eit breitt fagtilbod og har elles blant anna vore involvert i mange forskingsprosjekt i peruansk Amazonas.

脜bo ligg s酶rvest i Finland. Byen blei grunnlagd p氓 1200-talet og er Finlands eldste by. Han har om lag 180聽000 innbyggarar, og rundt 5,5 prosent av dei er svenskspr氓klege. 脜bo er Finlands offisielle juleby, og er kjend som vertskap for ein 氓rleg middelaldermarknad og Skandinavias eldste rockefestival, Ruisrock. Salo er ein kystby med 55聽000 innbyggarar som ligg mellom 脜bo og Helsinki.

Accommodation

Universitetet har ingen eigne studentbustader, og internasjonale studentar m氓 ordne med dette sj酶lve. Det er imidlertid gode sjansar for 氓 f氓 tildelt bustad gjennom The Student Village Foundation (TYS) dersom ein s酶ker i god tid.
