Many congratulations to Daniel Pauly and Rashid Sumaila who won the University of Southern California鈥檚 Tyler Prize for Environmental Achievement for 2023. The award is often dubbed as the 鈥淣obel Prize for the Environment鈥�.
It is especially nice for Department of Economics at UoB to greet Rashid Sumaila for his achievement, Rashid received his Ph.D. in Economics at our department.听During his doctoral studies, a few fellow student advised Rashid on the benefits of slower progress. Rashid responded: 鈥淭hat would be difficult for me - and听no less so for my mentor Sjur Didrik Fl氓m.鈥�
