CENTENOL's Halvard Haukeland Fredriksen and Ingrid Barlund attended the relaunch of the Nordic Network of European Legal 大象传媒 (NNELS) on Friday March 15 in Helsinki. CENTENOL is happy that the network is up and running again, and it was great meeting our Nordic colleagues to discuss topical issues both about teaching and research dissemination of EU and EEA law.
In Reykjavik, CENTENOL鈥檚 director, Christian Franklin, joined forces and first stop was cheering on the six Bergen teams participating in the EEA Moot Court. The level of all the teams from Bergen, Oslo, Stavanger and Reykjavik was impressive, and congratulations to the Bergen team that got to the final, finishing second against a solid Reykjavik team! Thank you also to the ESA and the University of Iceland for a great, well-organized event!聽
The last day of our visit to Reykjavik, we had the pleasure of discussing EEA topical issues with two representatives from the Icelandic foreign ministry, Legal Advisor Hendrik Da冒i J贸nsson and Deputy Director General for European Affairs Ingolfur Fridriksson. For Centenol it is valuable to talk with representatives from the public administration of all of the EEA/EFTA-states and to listen to their experiences and share our take on different EEA matters.
The last stop before our return was a meeting with our Centenol colleagues at Reykjavik University, Gunnar Thor Petursson, Margr茅t Einarsd贸ttir and Omar Berg Runarsson. They were kind enough to give us a tour of the campus and we had a status meeting about current activities at Centenol. There was even a volcano eruption nearby when we visited Iceland, adding an extra level of excitement to the trip!
