Main content

Featuring 30-minute interviews with visiting scholars to the department, as well as with our own academic staff, the English-language podcast aims to bring thought-provoking research in anthropology and related disciplines to a wider audience.

Episode one is a conversation with about his project on 鈥済host rivers鈥 in Montreal, Canada, where he is Associate Professor of Sociology and Anthropology at Concordia University. It explores and builds on research Kregg presented to the department in one of our BSAS seminars.

Amongst other topics, Kregg discusses the possibilities and limitations of thinking of rivers - and other nonhumans - as 鈥渒in鈥 or 鈥減ersons鈥, and talks about the methodological and pedagogical approach he calls 鈥渃omposite ethnography鈥. 听

Alongside Antrohalvtimen, the department鈥檚 student-run podcast which launched in 2021, Anthropology on Air offers another way for those curious about anthropology and its diverse themes to engage with current research.
