Rokkan, Western Europe and the rest of the worldÌý

SteinÌýRokkanÌý(1921–1979) was one of the world’s foremostÌýpolitical scientists and one of the leadingÌýscientistsÌýthat established the Faculty of Social Sciences at UiB.ÌýHere, he established the department of comparative politics.ÌýThe annualÌýRokkanÌýlecture is held by internationally renownedÌýsocial scientists in memory ofÌýRokkan’sÌýwork. This year’s lecture, byÌýProfessorÌýLarsÌýMjøset, willÌýaddressÌýRokkan’sÌýresearch on Western Europe and how his theories can be used to understand other regions of the world. The lecture will be held in English.ÌýÌý
