Main content

We have limited knowledge concerning the lives of home-dwelling persons with dementia shortly after they are diagnosed. How is interpersonal relationships affected by their new situation? We hope that the study LIVE@Home.Path will increase our understanding of how we best can improve quality of life for persons with dementia and their caregivers, as well as reducing the caregiver burden. Our intention is to test out a new structure for implementing and improving care, which hopefully also will contribute to a sustainable health care system.

The study is a multi-component intervention over a two year period. The participating municipalities are Bergen, B忙rum and Kristiansand.

In January, the researchers from SEFAS visited the Municipality of B忙rum for a kick off seminar. Staff from the primary and specialist health care services, non-governmental organizations, municipal administration, politicians and the Council for the elderly (Eldrer氓det) participated.听 Hopefully, similar seminars will be held in the municipalities of Bergen and Kristiansand.

The municipality of B忙rum has a fantastic show room for telecare equipment (eksternal link)

The center is open for drop-in so all interested parties are welcome to the show room. These products could help improve quality and dignity of everyday life, communication with health care services and family members, improve in-home rehabilitation and occupational therapy.

This focus is in line with the telecare perspective in LIVE@Home.Path.
