Life Threat and Sleep Disturbances in Adolescents (12.10.2017)
The study shows that many of the survivors developed long-term sleep disturbances after the terror attack on Ut酶ya 2011. There was also a correlation between sleep disturbances and psychiatric diagnosis.

The aim of the course is to provide knowledge of the function that is served by circadian rhythms, sleep and the mechanisms by which circadian disruption and sleep insufficiency degrades mental and physical health, safety and productivity 鈥� and increases risk of errors and accidents.

Open data on adolescent health in 41 countries released (10.02.2016)
A WHO-project on health in the adolescent population is now giving researchers access to data collected in 41 countries worldwide. The data gives insight on matters concerning health, well-being, social environment and health related behaviour of 11, 13 and 15 year old boys and girls.

PMTO and mental distress among immigrant mothers (16.10.2015)
Former investigations have shown that PMTO-interventions have positive effects on the parenting of immigrant mothers and the behaviour of their children. A new article by researchers in the UiB research-group Child Welfare, Equality and Inclusion suggests that PMTO may not be effective in relieving mental distress among immigrant mothers.

The Norwegian child welfare services鈥� ways of addressing multicultural challenges is a recurring topic in national and international debates. Fear of the child welfare services among ethnic minority parents are under researched in Norway, and has been addressed in a new article by researchers from the research group Child welfare, Equality and Inclusion, UiB.

World-leading neuroscientist Stefan Koelsch has been offered a position as professor at the Department of Biological and Medical Psychology. Professor Koelsch already works with some of the leading brain researchers in Norway.
