Apinya Singkhala
Visiting PhD student from Thailand (14.11.2016)
Ms Apinya Singkhala has a Royal Golden Jubilee PhD scholarship awarded by the Thai Research Fund for a 10 month reseach visit to BIO. She will work on thermophilic bacteria and hydrolytic enzymes from hot springs in Thailand.

Evidence for the Oldest Eukaryotic Life Found (21.05.2016)
Yuangao Qu, a post-doc at the Centre for Geobiology (CGB), was a member of a team who discovered macroscopic fossils from the 1 560 Myr old Gaoyuzhuang Formation in the Yanshan area of North China. The results have been published in Nature Communications.

Martine completes her BIO299 project (18.02.2016)
Martine R酶ysted Sol氓s participated in BIO299, Research Project in Biology. Her task was to study whether salmon fry from enriched hatchery environment have higher survival in the wild than those from the normal hatchery environment. The final touch to the work was given while she was taking the Arctic Biology course at UNIS (University Centre in Svalbard).
